Prime Minister Research Fellowship (PMRF)
To be eligible for this scholarship, students must have earned a GATE score of 8.0 and be pursuing or must have already earned an M. Tech/MS by Research degree at one of the PMRF Granting Institutes.
Students are given Prime Minister Research Fellowships in order to further their field of study. Accordingly, PhD-level research in the sciences, technologies, engineering, arts, and health care is eligible for the PMRF program. The Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) work together on this program. This is advantageous to Ph.D. students who are registered at a PMRF-eligible institution. With a sponsoring industry contributing the remaining 50% over the course of four years, the PMRF initiative grants Ph.D. candidates scholarships worth up to INR 10.92 lakhs annually.
